KENT'S cup final hat-trick hero Ryan McLaren says he will take a few days mulling over the county's offer of a three-year Kolpak contract.
The club tabled the extension in the build-up to Twenty20 finals day but the 24-year-old is refusing to be rushed into signing.
He said: "It's a case of sitting down and working out what's best for my career."
Should he decide to lengthen the terms of his Kolpak agreement McLaren would be effectively turning his back on an international career with South Africa.
Added to which, if he wanted to return home to play off-season cricket for the Eagles he would be obliged to do so as a registered overseas player.
Kent director of cricket Graham Ford said: "Now it's just a question of whether he's happy with Kent and the deal we've proposed to him."
