Dover man charged with arson following fire at flats in Roosevelt Road

A man has been charged with arson following a fire which saw one resident taken to hospital.

On Tuesday, police were called alongside four fire engines at about 4pm to a report of a fire at a block of flats in Roosevelt Road, Dover.

Paramedics also attended and a man was taken to hospital. He was later discharged.

The incident sparked a police investigation and on Wednesday, officers charged Dennis Ryan, of Roosevelt Road, with arson with intent to endanger life.

The 59-year-old was remanded to appear before Folkestone Magistrates’ Court today.
