Deal Town vice-chairman Bob Chivington says he has been "pleasantly surprised" by the success of the club’s latest promotion.

Town launched their "Deal Town For Sale For £250" campaign at the end of April, under which local businesses have the chance to win several incentives in return for a £250 donation.

Mr Chivington, pictured right, said: "It’s going well, especially considering the current economic climate."

For £250, a business will receive an advertising board at the Charles Ground, a half page advert in next season’s matchday programme, a half page advert in the club’s monthly fanzine, an advert on the sponsors’ page on the club website, a mention on a recorded CD pre-match and at half-time at all Deal’s home games next season and a season ticket for two people for next season, including hospitality.

In addition, everyone who supports the promotion will be entered into a prize draw, to take place on August 1, in which the winner will have their business logo carried on Deal’s shirts and the Charles Ground re-named after their business name for next season.

Mr Chivington added: "I think people feel that, for £250, what we are offering is a good deal and that’s why we are getting such a positive response.

"And the promotion isn’t just aimed at businesses. Individuals can take part as well and they can choose to have the name of their favourite charity carried on the shirts, which is becoming increasingly popular in football."
